The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ would not be the well-run success that it is today without the vision, dedication and hard work of its volunteers. What began as a small group of people with a dream has developed into an event supported by the efforts of 35,000 volunteers.
More than 35,000 individuals serving on 107 different committees form the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ volunteer corps, and are responsible for helping maintain its charitable purpose year after year.
With more than 2.1 million total hours of dedication amongst them, Rodeo volunteers know that dedication to this organization goes beyond a time commitment — it’s a way of life.
Since 1932, the Rodeo has made a $475 million impact on the youth of Texas, a feat that could not have been done without the passion of its volunteer network.
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ promotes agriculture by hosting an annual, family-friendly experience that educates and entertains the public, supports Texas youth, showcases Western heritage and provides year-round educational support within the community.
The committee chairman or a representative of the requested committee will contact the applicant if there is an opening. Committee volunteers must be at least 21 years of age, with the exception of the Jr. Rodeo Committee.
